January 25, 2014-- 12,000-strong victims, led by People Surge, an alliance of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims, slammed the Aquino government for its neglect months after typhoon Yolanda devastated the region.
A Valentine's for Villagers
A week before Valentine's Day, victims of Ttyphoon Yolanda in Western Samar were visited by the 5th mission of the S.O.S. Gail Gabriel of the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON-USA) came with her dad Leo and fiance Darrell, volunteers of the South Bay Task Force Haiyan. There, in the remote and upland villages of Calbiga and Pinabacdao, they touched and warmed the hearts of thousands of Filipinos abandoned by government neglect.
U.P. Behavioral Studies Society Joins S.O.S. Mission
Volunteers from the Behavioral Studies Society of the University of the Philippines in Manila joined the Samahang Operasyong Sagip (S.O.S.) mission in Western Samar to help in the psycho-social rehabilitation of children survivors of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
